The member app
The member app is the installable mobile shell of Placeful — a focused, phone-first surface at /m for customers and floor staff. It's a PWA: add it to the home screen and it runs standalone with its own icon, splash and offline page.
Install
From the app's home tab tap Install (or Share → Add to Home Screen on iOS). The installed shell starts on /m and caches its assets — with no connectivity it shows an honest offline page instead of a broken Livewire screen.
What's inside
- Today (
/m) — greeting, today's booking count, open-order count and your next bookings; the install prompt lives here. - Bookings (
/m/bookings) — your bookings for the day with party size, time and seated tables; cancel from the detail. - Check-in (
/m/checkin) — door manifest and QR ticket scanner for events (staff,bookings.seat). - Pre-shift (
/m/pre-shift) — the day's briefing sheet: covers by slot, VIP/regular/allergy flags and walk-ins (staff,bookings.viewAny; see Pre-shift briefing). - Floor (
/m/seating) — the venue map: tap a table for its booking pins, live tab status and seating actions (seat a booking, open an order). - Orders (
/m/orders) — live tabs plus My orders (everything your account placed). Requires the ordering module. - Kitchen (
/m/kitchen) — the same kitchen board as the desktop, filtered per station. - Self-order (
/m/order) — order against your own table/booking without staff. - Pad (
/m/pad) — the staff order pad in mobile form, also reachable per table at/m/tables/{table}/order.
Who can use it
Members joined through the widget can be unverified — the app still works — and members of a lapsed company keep booking/order access (same rule as the booking pages). Ordering surfaces follow the package's orders feature flag, exactly like the desktop module.
Push & offline
The app registers the same service worker that powers push notifications; tapping a notification deep-links into the right page. Navigations are network-first with the offline shell as fallback.
